Predictive Dialing

Postby Zaraab » Sun Jun 21, 2020 9:42 am

I want to know, what happens actually when we use predictive dialing ?
Say suppose I have 3 agents and dial ratio is 2 which means when the 3 agents are ready, the dialer will dial 6 numbers, now whats gonna happen if 3 numbers picked up the phone, and the other 3 numbers are also gonna be picked by the customer? will the other 3 numbers be hung up by vicidial? and does it mean, it will hangup the other 3 numbers when the other 3 numbers gonna pick up the phone, and my voip minutes gonna be charged?

Im using vicibox9

they get put into queue but the likelihood of 6 calls connecting at once is very low. And they would be listening to hold music or whatever audio file you choose and yes it would charge you minutes for that.

1) Welcome to the Party! 8-)

2) As you are obviously new here, I have some suggestions to help us all help you:

When you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method (7.X.X?) and vicidial version with build (VERSION: 2.X-XXXx ... BUILD: #####-####).

This IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "manual/from scratch" you must post your operating system with version (and the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system) plus a link to the installation instructions you used. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

3) This is a support question, not a general discussion. Moving to the support board accordingly.

4) You have described autodialing, not predictive dialing.

5) Autodialing = 3 available agents * dial ratio of 2 = 6 calls dialed.

6) Predictive dialing = Vicidial calculates the "dial ratio" automatically based on dropped calls, available agents, average length of calls (and other criteria).

7) For both autodialing and predictive dialing, the same rule applies when a lead answers the phone: The campaign settings for dropped calls are used to determine how long to wait for an agent to become available. If an agent becomes available during this time period, the call will be transferred to an agent. If an agent does NOT become available during this time period, the DROP ACTION is executed.

8) There are laws in the USA which dictate what happens on an autodialed call when too much time has passed before an agent becomes available. Consider registering on this site: https://telemarketing.donotcall.gov/ which will point you to the specific laws (or at least some of them) regarding telemarketing in the US. This site only applies to commercial calls, but the links to the laws often cover other types of calls as well.
