Basic Support

Hello Everyone -

This is my first post - I am looking for someone to help me tune a system.

I am a broker making about 5k calls per day, and I have just migrated to ViciDial from Mojo and CallTools. I like it a lot so far, but I am not quite able to tune the system as I like.

I have 10 campaigns of about 327k numbers, and need some help as I get started in: recycling lists with certain dispos, copying campaign settings from one to another, troubleshooting call issues and so on.

If anyone has experience in this, I'd like to speak with you.

Thanks! Douglas

When you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method (11.X.X?) and vicidial version with build (VERSION: 2.X-XXXx ... BUILD: #####-####).

Recycling lists is an odd way to say it, so I'll ask if you can clarify.

Reycling leads is a feature that is expected to be used only to call back busy signals in a couple minutes. Really. Nothing else. It's a feature of the campaign (top menu item when in Detail view of a campaign). If you use Lead Recycling (which I don't recommend, ever) beware that it WILL put that lead back into the hopper, even if the lead has called you back and loudly said "don't ever call me again". Which can be ... awkward. Doesn't usually happen for a busy signal, though, right? Onward!

Lists are Reset (which could be described as a form of recycling, thus this note :) ). There is an option to reset each list at a specific time of day, or you can reset the list(s) manually one at a time. It's generally considered best to wait until you've called ALL your leads, then reset the list and call all of them again.

Many new users try to find a way to only reset the leads they want to call again, but that's not how it works. If you don't want to call a lead, it's because that lead has a status (disposition from prior call if there was one, or NEW if never called) that indicates a condition you WOULD like to call. Those Statuses (the ones representing those you DO want to contact) are the statuses you enumerate in the Campaign's "Dial Status" list. Those will be called. Other statuses will be ignored. So having reset those leads with statuses you don't want to talk to ... won't matter. They have the wrong status and won't be called anyway. So resetting the entire list is proper. Especially if you decide (at some point) to call one of those statuses. They're already reset, so they'll just start getting added to the hopper.

As for copying from one campaign to another, that's accomplished by creating a new campaign with the "Copy Campaign" link at the top of the campaigns menu. If you want to copy some of the settings from one campaign to another (such as AC-CID or pause codes) each item to be copied has to be copied manually unless there's a Share option which doesn't actually involve copying, it involves creating a set of something and then applying the set to each campaign to use it (such as "CID GROUP").

Hopefully you've already learned all this, but if any of it hasn't landed yet ... 8-)
