Cluster Query For Inbound Process

Hi All,

Can i use cluster for my inbound calling. I don't understanding to what IP i need to send calls to. I have 3 servers in a cluster, mentioned below-
1.1.1.1: DB+WebServer
2.2.2.2: Telephony1
3.3.3.3: Telephony2

If i send calls to a telephony server (using IP) then it works for just 1 server which not fulfills the purpose to use cluster, and in this case, i have to login all agents to one server (defined IP in Phones, admin->Phones). I just wanted to login all my agents to both telephony servers so that load can be balanced.

I also tried to use inbound using AOR (instead of IP) but it also landing calls to just one telephony server while 'sip show registry' showing as 'registered' to both telephony servers.

Can anybody give me thoughts on this. Or should i consider that cluster can only be used for outbound calling purpose and not to inbound.

just pick an ip to send the inbound calls to and tell your carrier

Hi Carpenox, thanks for your response.

We do act as carrier too, however, i tried this already but not worked, because when i am sending calls to 1 telephony server, all calls hitting to that server only and other telephony server just remains idle and in that case, i have to login all my agents to that telephony server on which calls hitting, result, other telephony server just wasted as it has no use.

Is there a way to send inbound calls to cluster (somehow), so that an inbound calls hit simultaneously to both telephony servers, (call should be shown hitting under 'trunkinbound' context in both telephony servers), so that i can login agents to any of the telephony servers.

Any idea, if you got my point.

it should not matter what server inbound calls hit and where the agents are logged in, they should still get the calls. Something else is off. What is the inbound process? are the DID's directed to an ingroup? a call menu?

ok, so the ingroup will direct those inbound calls to any agents in that ingroup, it doesnt matter what server they are on, ir will use iax to transfer from server to server

Thanks for your reply Carpenox. I appreciate your thoughts and insights into this matter and to clear my doubts.
Finally, as you said, it's working absolutely fine :) without making any changes.
So, i was in wrong impression that, inbound calls will only land on those agents whose phone extension has that server IP on which it hitting (showing in asterisk cli).
