Controlling Mic / Input Volume Webphone

Hi,

Does anyone have any recommendations for adjusting the input volume while using the webphone.

When using MicroSIP, agents could use a slider to turn down the Mic sensitivity. We've moved to webphone and agents are getting complaints that they are too loud and customers can hear too much background noise.

I have tried adjusting the mic settings in Windows, but the input always seems to auto-adjust back to max volume.

Thanks in advance.

Is there another application taking control of your microphone settings? Do all your agents have the same apps installed? Does this happen on all browsers (which would indicate it's not a windows app but perhaps a browser extension ...)?

Great questions. I don't believe any other application is taking control of mic settings. The computers are managed by an outside IT company and all have the same apps. I have not had agents try to access the webphone from any browser except Chrome but can put a subset on Edge today and see if it helps.

Thank you for this. It's a bit above my head but looks promising. I'll schedule sometime with my support and see if they can walk me through this.

"managed by an outside IT company" can have some risks. Some will install code/modules/apps/applets/extensions to allow remote management and statistical analysis. And yes, that can intefere with any system in the computer randomly depending on what method(s) they are using for management. Perhaps (just for fun) try using a single NON-managed computer/laptop to see if the problem still exists there.

And definitely test with all available browsers (it's free and if there's a difference in any of them, we just got a hint about what's going on without spending money).
