Hi, i wanted to know if vicidial works with asterisk connected to a ISDN PRI line of 24 channels because i read in the FAQs that:

"Does VICIDIAL work over CAPI trunks?
No, right now we do not have the facilities to test CAPI channels. But if someone who does would like to work with us, we can do some remote testing and development and offer it."

and CAPI trunks deals with isdn right? i havent got the ISDN installed yet but i do have a working VICIDIAL so i wanted to be sure before making the jump.

NOTE:
====

I think i might be messing up things in my head because i just read:
www dot voip-info dot org/wiki/view/Asterisk+PRI and there's no mention of using the capi trunks with the isdn line.

The ISDN line will be connected to a Digium TE120P card.

Yes it should work with PRI,

Just reconfigure your asterisk with your new card

and the scrath install desribes an install with t100p, just read that and you will get the idea how it should be done

What kind of ISDN PRI lines do you have?

What switchtype of PRI are your T1s?

What kind of PRI ISDN hardware are you using?

I dont have the ISDN line yet but so i cant really answer those questions only that i hope i could plug the ISDN line into a DIGIUM TE120P card.

If you could please tell me what questions i should ask to the phone company .

i will ask them about the switchtype and what kind of ISDN PRI lines but i hope they will know what to answer.

Just to help you, here are the different switch types (that the zaptel driver can handle):

national: National ISDN 2 (default)
dms100: Nortel DMS100
4ess: AT&T 4ESS
5ess: Lucent 5ESS
euroisdn: EuroISDN
ni1: Old National ISDN 1
qsig: Q.SIG

I've already done 2 Vicidial/Asterisk installation using ISDN PRI trunks and had no problems. Used 2 different cards: Digium TE120P and Digium TE220.

A word of advice: make sure that the ISDN type selector jumper is set to the correct one (T1 or E1). Spent half a day tearing my hear out during the first installation coz the card didn't want to communicate with the telco's equipment...
