CPAN Installation getting freezed

I was trying to install CPAN .. its getting freezed iwhile installation,,., what would be the reason.. even waited for 1 day. but.. its not moving.. I have tried couple of time in Linux FC4 and RHEL 4... no change

When i hit couple of enter button.. it will start going but this gives error of agi scriipt when in asterisks logs .. and i cant make calls ././/.

I have exactly the same issue, may be is the new version of cpan.

proceed with it. I saw it happened when using 64 bit centos.

keep trying to install Bundle::Cpan if it dont compile properly. Exit then go back to cpan and try again. It works for me

Me tried in both RHEL 4 32 bit and FC4 64 Bit.. both gave the same error.. .
so, you mean control + C and give ' install Bundle::Cpan' ???

so u are saying to go with that.. it was not like this before. I have done a couple of installations.. which doesn't give me this problem..

Which mirror is best for CPAN. Me used to take.. North America.. which is most safe...

Well i had same kind problem when i was installing vicidial on fc6 32.

so i did a little trick instead of CPAN i installed all Perl modules with yum why dont you give a try because it worked for me.

Installed these with CPAN

CPAN

- install MD5
- install Digest::MD5
- install Digest::SHA1
- install readline
- install Time::HiRes

I did not installed CPAN Bundle but it still works.

i did something like

yum install perl-DBI*
yum install perl-Net*
yum install perl-Unicode*
yum install perl-Spreadsheet*
yum install perl-Time*
yum install perl-Proc*
yum install perl-IO*
yum searched and installed dependency also so it might install few more things but worked perfect.

you can give it a try i didn't have any problem yet on my BOX even its my 1st install.

VICIDIAL should run without installing the "Bundle::CPAN" perl module, but the other modules in the list do need to be installed.

I have heard from some people that there is a bug in one of the perl modules in that bundle that prevents it from finishing correctly. Just skip Bundle::CPAN and move on to the next module to install.

try to reload index in CPAN prompt and then reload cpan, then try to install Bundle::CPAN again.

Otherwise , download and build from source.

I once built all the modules from source , and it worked fine.
