Which is the best version of Asterisk. I have tried couple of time asterisk 1.4.17 (as per the scratch install). But i am getting voice breakage. So anybody think that this could be the problem with asterisk, and which is the stable version of asterisk.

Which version of vici are you installing?? I would suggest using svn with asterisk 1.4

but even i getting voice breakage even i cal directly from softphone with out using astguiclient

Hi
when using X-lite and regsiter with Asterisk
and you are calling out, you see voice break
could be a one of the reasons
1. Voip Provider issue.
2. Latency
3. bandwidth consistency.
4. Local network
Scratch_install does not recomend 1.4.X
try to degrade version to 1.2.17 and try
ram

But I have another asterisk server in the same network working fine against with the same voip gateway and bandwidth. The only diifference is its using asterisk 1.2.14 and i am not sure that its installed as per scratch install(not installed by me).
Me tried 1.2.17(not 1.4, it was a type error)

I would not recommend Asterisk 1.4 with VICIDIAL at this time. I have 1.2.17 through 1.2.23 installed at several locations with no issues.
