traffic issue

Hello everybody. I'd like to ask you about the internet traffic ratio, when using vicidial and SIP.

So, the issue is that the download rate is 2~3 times higher than upload, although it should be almost equal. All I can suggest, after looking at realtime traffic stats - is that unanswered calls produce only inbound traffic, so when using autodial with a ratio, say, 3.0 - it is normal that the rates of traffic consumption differ in times.

Am I right, or there still is a problem with my asterisk settings? When there are no calls - both upload, and download are close to zero...

I have the same issue with ratio level of 2, 3 or 4. The diference is that I am using IAX2 trunks. Why is this happening? I know that signalling has a low bandwidth consumption. How could we fix this issue in one of the asterisk configuration files?

I talked to some specialists. They say, that the cause of the situation is a bad configuration - the transmitting side must send voice data only when there is an answer, or in case of a 183 code - a voice message (number disconnected, etc) - but when the code is 180 - there must be no data sent.

So tomorrow I'll be talking to our SIP providers, to change the situation somehow.

Does anybody have the same issue too?
Did you fix it? How?
