asterisk-perl versions

Postby nobesnickr » Wed Nov 28, 2007 2:19 pm

I have always had the understanding (and it might not be accurate) that the latest version of the software is best. That being said I would like to use the asterisk-perl .10 if possible instead of .08. I know .09 wont work from everything I've read but do the same problems still exist with .10?

Thank you all for your wisdom!

Unfortunately I haven't had the time to throughly test 0.10. Has anyone out there been able to?

0.08 has been working wonderfully for years, and unless you are needing to use some of the new functions of 0.10 I don't really see an need to upgrade.

And I certainly dispute your thought that newer-is-better, just take a look at Windows Vista for example :)

as a cardinal rule never go for the latest release. Look what happens when you use 1.4 for VICIDIAL :D

Compiz-Fusion / Ubuntu is way cooler than Leopard and Vista combined though :P
