Question about conference on multi install
Should conference room extensions be totally different on each server?
I have them setup same on both machines and we get problems only on monitoring calls so wondered if this might have been the issue.

Have you read and follow the load_balancing.txt document?

I have indeed read the load balance document.
Which version however?
There surely could be a response better than "have you read...."
Simple question.
Just wondered if others are having same problem or if we have done something wrong.
This is what the forum is for no?

actually "have you read" is a perfectly legitimate question. Many people post the same questions over and over, when the search function would be more apt to get your question answered promptly (as it would have already been answered several times prior).
That being said.
I use different conference rooms
86000X
86001X
86002X
86003X
etc etc depending on how many servers. The reason I do this is so I can point the monitor 68600XXX to the corresponding server.

I find the docs somewhat vague on some things like this.

I'm installing 2 asterisk/agc servers, each with 10 agents, + 1 DB/web server.
I assume that in each server I should configure the same number of conference rooms as agents, i.e 10 in this case. Is that correct?

I have been down this very same road and find it very confusing
Each server needs different extensions.
Each server needs different meetme extensions also by the sound of things else u get same issue i have been having when listening in on conversations....
for goodness sakes read the docs and search the forum like crazy before u post...
else private message me lol
Its all good in my opinion.

cant hurt to have some extra's.. put 30 or so I'd say.. that way if your agents ever log out improperly you'll be okay or if you decide to add additional agents you dont have to go adding more conferences..

No it doesnt need to have a different meetme rooms on each server. You just have to point your barging on the right asterisk ip address.
Keep in mind that VICIDIAL is written as an application to the Asterisk PBX. It also assumes you know asterisk before installing VICIDIAL. So you definitely need to read the docs.

The reason I change the conference rooms is to provide ease of use in terms of calling into conference rooms. By no means is it a requirement to have different meetme rooms between servers they could be identicle your dialplan must reflect this however if you plan to dial into remote meetme rooms.
NOTE: This is Asterisk related not VICIDIAL related.
