How can a manager enter conversation with agents and client

I have the basic vicidial set up for outbound dialing.
I use manual dialing mode. There are 30 agents logged in to the system.
I would like to know the options using which
*) The manager can listen to the conversation and if needed join in the conference.
*) There is a field Admin Hijack and Admin Monitor in Phones, i tried setting them to 1 but not able to figure out how they actually function.
