how to make executable file

Hello Sir,
How can make executable file to run on slackware.
some file are given bellow

/home/cron/AST_agent_week.pl
/home/cron/AST_reset_mysql_vars.pl

please try to sort out my problem

type:
man chmod

the command is 'chmod +x filename'

Im here to help, not answer every issue related to stuff covered in the SCRATCH_INSTALL, but come on chmod? thats something he'll never forget now :)
