Performance difference between ast 1.2 and ast 1.4

Whats the difference between ast 1.2 and ast 1.4 under vicidial? Call quality? stability?

I have not done any comparisons recently, but Asterisk 1.4.21.1 currently seems pretty stable and has slightly lower load than 1.2.27.

If I get some time I hope to do some more recent comparisons.
