Do I need TDM card for manual Dialing (SOLVED)

Postby yasserin » Fri Aug 29, 2008 10:54 am

Hi! I know vicidial require a TDM for for timing purposes, but my question is if it necesary for Manual Dialing, Cause I install a VicidialNow box and when I tried to log in my softphone do not ring back, so I cant get into the session.
I install vicidial now 1.1 and vicidial rc3

The curious thing is if I connect that server in a LAN that had already a VICIDIAL server, I can Log in perfectly, but if I disconect the server and the client from the LAN the softphone dont ring at all, Im talking about a single client for one server just to make test.

PD the other server has a TDM card in it

A TDM card is not required for VICIDIAL to run, but it is recommended. If you cannot login you should post the Asterisk CLI output here so we can debug.

sounds like a database hostname lookup issue. You need to turn off hostname lookups in your my.cnf file or at MySQLd startup
