Can't move statused leads to new campaign

We are trying to create a campaign from leads already in the dialer. They have been called, had an appointment and didn't sell. We want to create a campaign for just those already called leads but since they are already loaded it won't allow duplicates. Maybe changing to 'allow duplicates' just so they can't be loaded into a new campaign would work? What happens when we change it back though? Any help would be appreciated.

You could always try changing the list_id of those leads manually using something like PHPMyAdmin.
