CALL DROP time

Postby georgem » Fri Aug 14, 2009 4:55 am

hello

we currently have a 50 seater setup running on vicidial.( vicidial now 1.2 CE with asterisk 1.2.30 vici 2.0.5).

i have a problem with call dropping. i hve set the time out to 30 seconds.

exten => _1XXXXXXXXXX,3,Dial(sip/${EXTEN}@SIPtrunk,30,tTo)

when we are dialing with 10 seats and ratio mode..1:4,everything is fine.,VDAD link is showing calls getting disconnected after 31 seconds.. but when increase the seating capacity to 30 or more the problem starts. the calls are going to 2.01 miinutes. i monitored it constantly for quite a long time.. and after the server restarts it becomes stable again. need to restart the server several times to make the call drop at 30 seconds.. any tricks in this case to solve my issue?

i'd guess this is eiather a timing issue or a hardware issue.

hello.

i was getting an error message ' too many open files' for which i increased the ulimit value. but still have the same problem. i observed that the calls which are crossing the defined time out of 30 seconds , are not being dialled at all. i mean they are not sent to asterisk. i checked the asterisk master CDR report but cant find those numbers in it.

kindly assist.

What is the loadavg on your machine when this happens?

How exactly did you raise the ulimit open files setting?

hello Mr florell.

the load avg was 0.59 0.56 0.78. i incresed the ulimit giving ulimit -n 65536.

i followed the instructions as on link : http://www.eflo.net/VICIDIALforum/viewt ... 75d993c7ec .

i incresed the ulimit and den strted asterisk in the same terminal.

How many Asterisk channels were open at this time?

hello

i am using vicidialnow. 1.2 ce. ( asterisk version 1.2.30 astguicleint version 2.0.5)

i was running 100 channels when this happened. if i reduce it to 50-60 channels things go fine. but when i increase it to 100 or more than 60 channels the problem starts.

does the Internet bandwidth have any role in this error? i am using a 2 MBPS 1:1 line.

as told in earlier post. i see that the call is never dialled . the master CDR report of asterisk doesnt contain the numbers.

when this happens, how many lines are in the following output in the Asterisk CLI: "show channels concise"?

You might just be hitting the limits of the machine, you should consider breaking off the DB and Web server to a separate machine so you can get more functional capacity on your dialer.
