Dialer is taking 5-10 secondes to answer customer

>>When the predictive dialer is dialing and my customer answer the call , vicidial is taking between 5-10 secondes before giving me a LIVE CAll
and being able to talk to the customer.. but most of the time the client hangup the phone because he thinks no one is on the other end .

Is there any way to make this delay shorter , mean that when vicidial is having a live call that he can transfer the call directly to my agant and not having any delay?
