call duration

Postby spaquet » Fri Oct 30, 2009 11:45 am

Hi,

I know there is a thread on that subject somewhere in this forum, but it does not answer my question.

I noticed, after comparing call log in call_log table that the length_in_sec does not match the one in CDR (/var/log/asterisk/cdr-csv/Master.csv)

I don't know why but the call length in call_log is often longer than the real call length in Master.csv.

Let's say that you have a 80 sec call, the durection in call_log will be something in between 90 to 110 sec...

Why such a difference, is this a constant difference and are there any plan to have this correct in the future ?

Thanks,

SP

Please post your complete setup when you ask a question, especially when it refers to a specific "bug-like" flaw such as this. If you do, it is much more likely that someone who recognizes it will be able to help you out. So post your Vicidial version (with build), Asterisk version and your installation method (including OS with version), any Other Software that may be installed in the box. Hardware would be nice as well (CPU Brand Model and speed, RAM, HD, and it's a good idea to name your Motherboard and NIC if you can).

If you put this information into your signature (on one line) you can forget about it until it changes and it will ALWAYS be available for those looking at your questions.

Remember that we are all volunteers here, and sometimes we only have time to glance at a question and if it doesn't "click", we move on. Give more technical background information, and you're more likely to get a "click".

It is also a requirement (not just a suggestion) that you read the stickies on each forum before posting, and the Manager's Manual (available on EFLO.net).

depending on how the call was placed you might be seeing ring time included.

In general it is not recommended to use Asterisk CDR records on a ViciDial system.

I'm using Asterisk 1.4 and Vicidial 2.2 (from trunk) and MySQL 5.1 on Ubuntu 9.04 64 bits

Asterisk CDR have both value, one with ring time and the other one without ringtime.

The issue is that none is matching the value of call_log...

Which version of Asterisk 1.4?

What is the vicidial.php build and version?

And just to be funny, your method of installation (scratch or upgrade from an .iso?) and is there any Other Software on the box? (Trixbox, FreePBX, etc.)

Put it all in your signature. Make life easy (and make it easier to get answers in the future). Just click on your profile, then signature and paste it in and you're done.

I think I know why, but I'm not sure.

Some might say that this difference is due a difference between call start time and call established time. But this is not really the case when you look at Asterisk CDR.

This amount of time is also too big for being a processing time (call established to call transferred to agent), while this might not be excluded.

I do think that most of this difference is "agent waiting time".

That would be great if all this measures could be separated.
