Thanks for the great link William
This topic has been covered many times. Asterisk 1.6 is not stable enough, and we have not had any clients wanting to sponsor Asterisk 1.6 integration.

Hey, that's not true! I WANT to sponsor Asterisk 1.6 integration (I also WANT a 2010 Lincoln Towncar Limo with a 110-inch stretch, but the wife won't let me get that either).

LOL
I suppose I should rephrase:
There are not enough people committing to pay for the work involved to make ViciDial work with Asterisk 1.6
If you are willing, take a look at the project listing for this:

Ok, that's fair enough, cuz I'm committed, but not in that particular way.
That being said, I haven't actually found anything particularly cool about 1.6 (especially compared to Whisper, which first became available in 1.4), so I'm honestly not in a huge hurry. And I still don't have a lot of people using 1.4, simply because 2.0.5 .isos all come with 1.2 and it's very well trusted.

For 1.4 there are also some significant SIP/RTP fixes over 1.2.
