Cisco 7960 & GoAutoDial

Postby senate014 » Sat Jul 20, 2013 9:20 am

Hi all,

I've got GoautoDial dialing outbound and inbound using X-Lite softphones. I now was to connect up my CIsco 7960 to dial out.

I've currently got it hooked up to my Trixbox server, I've created a new SIP line within the Cisco phones settings to connect to my GoautoDial server.

I've put all the usual setting in, IP address, password etc.. but the phone won't register.

In Trixbox you have to setup and Endpoint config file which registers the phone by it's MAC address. All the configs are located in /tftpboot directory.

GoautoDial doesn't have a /tftpboot folder and I can't find anywhere in the admin section or the VICIdial admin section to be able to create a config for the Cisco 7960 phone or find any sort of "Endpoint Manager" like in Trixbox.

Can someone help me with this please? :lol:

Cheers!

It should be able to register without issues if it's a standard SIP phone. You can check your user's manual or google on how to register it to an Asterisk server.

An alternative is letting it stay in your Trixbox server. Create an IAX or SIP trunk between your GOautodial and Trixbox server. All your phone extensions are registered in Trixbox. Create an "EXTERNAL" (NOT SIP or IAX) phone extension in GOautodial and point it to your IAX trunk (or phone extension) going to the Trixbox server.

Hi Gardo,

Thanks again for your help and replying to my post :)

Can you give me an example on how to create a SIP link from my Trixbox server to my GoautoDial server? Any web links would be nice?

Also, do you know of any good Asterisk forums where I might be able to get some help on how to register my Cisco 7960's with my GoautoDial server?

Thanks again!

Here are some URLs for configuring SIP/IAX trunks between 2 Asterisk servers (via Google):

http://www.asteriskdocs.org/en/2nd_Edition/asterisk-book-html-chunk/connecting_two_asterisk.html
http://www.cadvision.com/blanchas/Asterisk/SIPFriendTrunk.html

You can also check Section 3 in the load_balancing.txt document in "/usr/src/vicidial/docs" directory:

3. The two servers need to be registered to each other as IAX2 friends:
SERVER ONE(goautodial-10.10.10.15)
iax.conf:
register => goautodial:test@10.10.10.16

[trixbox]
type=friend
accountcode=IAXtrunk2
context=default
auth=plaintext
host=dynamic
permit=0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
secret=test
qualify=yes

SERVER TWO(trixbox-10.10.10.16)
iax.conf:
register => trixbox:test@10.10.10.15

[goautodial]
type=friend
accountcode=IAXtrunk1
context=default
auth=plaintext
host=dynamic
permit=0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
secret=test
qualify=yes

The key here is to have the 2 servers (goautodial and trixbox) communicate seamlessly between each other. Either via SIP or IAX. If the phone extensions (ex: 8001 to 8010) are in Trixbox, if the GOautodial server dials 8001 to 8010 the calls should go to Trixbox server.

These are just the basics on what you need to learn first. It might be easier if you can find a way to make the CISCO phone works with the GOautodial server.
