I have just installed the new release. When I login as root and type "netconfig" I get "command not found".

I have also used su - to make sure I am in root but I have no luck. Anyone have any ideas on this?

Try running "system-config-network" as root w/o the quotes. Seems like netconfig was depreciated in favor of system-config-network.
