VicidialNOW 1.3 to Vicidial 2.4 SVN

Hi,

Do someone know how to upgrade How to VicidialNOW 1.3 to Vicidial 2.4 SVN? is it the same process as to Vicidial 2.2?

yep. you aren't really upgrading "vicidialnow", you are upgrading "vicidial". but remember that vicidialnow has a special agent screen that is ONLY available in the vicidialNOW distro, and has not been updated to 2.2.0, much less 2.4.

so as long as you do not mind losing that special agent screen, you can use the standard upgrade method for Vicidial

if you need that agent screen to be special, you'll have to find the post where there is a bounty to upgrade the agent screen and add your funds to the list and hope it gets high enough soon. (or upgrade that one file yourself, or pay someone like gardo)

So if i do the upgrade to Vicidial 2.2 SVN also i will lose the special agent screen too?

When will be the new release of VicidialNOW with 2.4 features containing the new ViciDial Agent interface ?

yes, any "upgrade" will load a new agent screen from the vicidial code base and overwrite the existing agent screen. if you upgrade above 2.0.5, "putting the file back" will no longer work as it will not be compatible with the rest of the system upon its arrival.

if you read the forum and find the other requests for this upgrade, you will find that it will happen when gardo has enough time to do it for free (which could be a while, as i'm sure he's busy) or when someone or a group of someone's make him an offer he can't refuse (by this, of course, i mean cash or credit, not as in the godfather version).

alternately, of course, you could attempt a diff on the standard interface for vicidial 2.0.5 agent screen against 2.2.0 agent screen and see how well that diff applies to the screen in vicidialNOW.

and then there's the person who originally wrote it, not gardo, you can always search for him and see if he'll make an upgrade.

I think we've had a few dozen customers ask for cosmetic changes to the agent screen over the years, none of them ever wanted to spend any money on it beyond putting a different logo up in the corner.

We do have a client right now that sounds like they might be interested in funding some pretty visual enhancements, but no firm decision as of yet.
