Add and configure E1 trunk?

Postby panosfot » Tue Dec 28, 2010 11:05 am

Hello from Greece,

I just installed GoAutoDial CE 2.0 (MD5:C98906C7B5EF093548077BC80BE1092F) on a test computer with Pentium Dual-core and 2 GB Ram and an Openvox D110P card and everything is fine. The Getting Started Guide is perfect and the installation was a success.

From CLI, running the command "dahdi show status" the card is recognized as TE110P and there are no alarms. [OK].

I have a SIP-T20 phone registered with the system but I cannot make outside calls from the phone device.

I suppose I need to configure an E1 trunk as a new carrier and possibly make some changes to xx.conf files

Could you give me a guideline?

Thanks is advance.

Welcome to the party. Download the Managers Manual for Vicidial from EFLO.net (free download, but I highly advise the paid version if you will soon have PAYCHECKS dependent upon this device ... and before you ask, no I am not part of the group that gets this money, i'm just a consultant :). I often get paid by people who didn't bother paying for the manual but have no issue giving me $ for the same information one piece at a time. LOL).

Begin the tutorial for setting the system up to make outbound calls with a logged in agent. Begin at the START of the tutorial and don't skip anything. I would even suggest that you go ahead and set up a SIP Trunk for testing purposes (many will allow a free account with 100 minutes for testing) so you can verify the operation of your dialer without regard for the hardware trunks installed.

Then learn to use the command line interface in asterisk so you can watch calls execute and observe any error messages. Makes troubleshooting SIGNIFICANTLY easier.

Oh! AND:

when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system.

Similar to This:
Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X Build XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation

You need to configure your E1 card within Asterisk before it can be utilized. Here's a good link on how to do it: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=Asterisk+config+zaptel.conf.
