active is set to YES
3) settings are NOT in the direct ".conf" files. they are in "-vicidial.conf" files (ie: sip-vicidial.conf, NOT sip.conf). This allows the sip.conf and extensions.conf to remain STATIC (and get replaced with new/better ones on upgrade without affecting the "generated" .conf file and vice versa).

then you must wait 60 seconds ... and see if it was written into sip-vicidial.conf (which would ordinarily be evidenced by having an entry appear in sip show peers, because that's where sip show peers gets the peers). [YES, but after 60 seconds still not showing the sip peers]
i'm a technician. you have to give technical answers or i'll keep quizzing you (because we obviously have a technical issue, and any tiny misstep or misunderstanding will cause it to fail ... and quite often that's what it is ... one semicolon out of place is all it takes! LOL)
