My advice: take that old 'puter laying in the corner (the one that the monitor broke on? or Windows got an infection so you just set it aside for "some other day"), it does not matter if it's only a P4 or a Core2Duo or something old.
Download Vicibox.com's .iso or GoAutoDial.com's .iso and install it. Get an account with any VOIP Provider (we give clients a list, of course). A few providers will even allow up to 100 Minutes for free to test their services. At this point you'll have the Vicidial Manager's Manual (from EFLO.net's store, free download!) to guide you through setup (start at page ONE and don't skip anything!). In the end, you'll save yourself a huge amount of money and become capable of handling this without being ripped off.
If you do not have enough bandwidth to make 30-50 phone calls (generally 100k per call unless you purchase g729, then about 30-50k per call), you can get a hosted solution. We rent servers (from single processor to quad processor) as do several other facilities including (of course!) The Vicidial Group (the owners of this site and the publisher of Vicidial).
Remember: GoAutoDial is an "Installer", it is not the actual software in question. Vicidial is the software and is maintained and developed by The Vicidial Group, but it is Open Source GPL software, so others such as GoAutoDial are able to repackage it with "extras" and distribute it.
If, during your installation, you have any problems ... post on the support forum or the forum for the installer you are using (if the question is Installer Related instead of Vicidial related) and we'll help you along.
If you have no time for this sort of involvement, of course, a hosted solution may well be a good idea.
We also offer training. We usually take about three hours (@$35/hour) to take a client from "I have a new dialer install and no idea how to manage it" to "DIALING!" with a single agent on a single list. So the only thing left to do is add more leads (real ones!) and add more agents (those can be animatronic if you can figure out how).
Happy Hunting.
(But take my advice: Download and install NOW, it's free, screw it up a few times, install 20 or 30 times ... it's free and no one will ever know how many times you did it wrong anyway ... keep going 'til you get it right and ask questions here when you need to!)
