Hi Gardo,

It worked. However it does not include the latest 2.2.0 rc8. After the upgrade, by clicking on the admin section of vicidial administration, the following are missing, audio store, music on hold and text to speech. Is there anything wrong or the svn version does not have the latest one as included in the latest version of the manual? The version of the manual I am refering to is 2010-03-23 version

Will appreciate your immediate response.

did you activate the central audio control in System Settings?

Have you read the ViciDial Manager manual?

Do you have Cepstral installed on your server?

I did the upgrade, but the upgrade does not include an upgrade to the vicidialnow agent GUI. The agent gui does not seem to work with the new version of Vicidial and Predictive dialing.

To test, built out a box from scratch, all worked fine. Followed your instructions to upgrade to 2.2, after regen of config files and reboot, Vicidial Now GUI would not work with unpause agent, no calls generated, perl script reports 0 agents ready, when vicidial realtime report agent ready, calls in the hopper, etc. Redirected to the vicidial agent gui, and all worked fine.

you are correct. the agent screen of vicidialnow is not compatible with vicidial 2.2.X (yet).

Before upgrading to v2.2 we want to upgrade Asterisk from 1.2 to 1.4
Any known issues ???????

In the new autodial 2.2 Asterisk 1.4.27.1-vici is used. can somebody tell me what means "-vici"

Alternative Asterisk build ?

Regards.

Arjen

this version is downloaded from (stored at) The Vicidial Group's servers. It is "pre-patched" to allow download, compile, install. Instead of download, pray, patch, compile, install (Praying that the version you downloaded is compatible with the patch and that digium hasn't altered it somehow).

It's a "Known to work with Vicidial, prepatched" version of Asterisk 1.4.

look at the scratch install instructions. the locations for all the files required are in it, and there's an option to install this exact file (including instructions for compiling and installing AND what to do AFTER you install it, which may have other requirements such as recompiling zaptel or dahdi and/or libpri). Scratch installation instructions contain a huge amount of detailed information for such occasions.

but you really should consider installing from an .iso instead of a manual upgrade.

you should back up your data, install a newer version (goautodial 2.0 if you want vicidial 2.2 or vicibox 3.0.6 if you want vicidial 2.4 opensuse), then restore your data, and upgrade it according to the instructions for upgrading sql data from your present version to the version you installed (the UPGRADE.txt will have the individual steps required to bring your data up from whatever version you are using to the version you just installed, usually one command per version upgrade so 2.0->2.2=1 command! 2.0->2.4=2 commands!).

that way you would have a definitely stable installation of the software and upgraded data and will probably have a lot less problems.

when the upgrade only involves vicidial it's not a big deal, but when you begin to recompile anything ... at least have the data backed up OFF the machine (and verified that it's really there!) so you CAN just wipe it clean and reinstall from a fresh .iso if you "have problems".

i actually recommend that newbie's practice installing several times just so they lose the fear of installation. now that gardo and the vicidial group have .iso's ... there should really be NO fear of a full reinstall.

Hey Arjen,

It's available in the latest GoAutoDial ISO (2.0). You'd also need to get the RPM packages for DAHDI.

I am currently running 2 dialers and a database server ce 1.2 with the 2.2 svn.

Just installed the latest ce 2.0 on a test box and have it running on the network.

I need instructions on what needs done to import mysql from the 1.2 to the 2.0 test box.
