Outbound dial direct into voicemail.

I have a VicidialNOW system setup and functioning for the company I work for, everything is fine with the system. But.......

I've been asked to setup survey campaigns that dial directly into voice mail, meaning that the leads phone never actually rings. Setting up the campaign, the recordings and so on is a non-issue. What I need to know is how do I direct the calls to their voice mail? is there a * combo I can add in the dial plans? do I have to make deals with the other carriers to get access to their backdoor numbers? Should I sacrifice a fellow employee to the telephony gods?

I'm sure there are different methods based on who the carrier is for the lead, I just can't for the life of me find those methods.

when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method, vicidial version and build, asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box.

While a sacrifice to the Vicidial Gods would probably be the fastest method, it may not be the least expensive. And I think their volcano is out for a remodel anyway.

depending on your version (see the above request), it could be as simple as setting the drop action to voicemail or an ingroup after hours action to voicemail or several other possibilities.

do you have a copy of the manager's manual?

That's an unusual setup. The leads phone won't ring? How do you know that it has connected to it? Normally, calls go to voicemail if the other end doesn't answer the phone. The survey campaign you want will be to leave messages on their voicemails? But in order to get to the voicemail, the phone on the other must ring.

wait a minute ... you want to call a number's voicemail, but not the number?

AFAIK there is NO way to accomplish this task

if you want to call prospects and then plop them into your voicemail (no agent), that's doable.
