Install: VicidialNow CE 1.3 upgraded to SVN 2.2 (CentOS)
Hardware: HP ProLiant ML110 G5 Server
4 GB RAM, 300 X 2 GB HDD

Been stuck with a strange problem. When I login an agent I dont hear the message that says "you are the only person in the conference". The autodial scripts kicks off fine and calls pop-up on screen with "live call" in green but no voice. Similarly, if i dial manually (by changing the dialing mode to manual) i can see the call being dialed in asterisk and on the web GUI as well as get a "live call indication" that the call is picked up but no ringing sound or voice.

I know for sure that its not a carrier issue since I can use Xlite and directly dial out via asterisk (without login to Vicidial). Plus I have confirmed that the dialer calls that were placed via manual and predictive mode actually reached the customers.

Strangely, there have been a few rare instances where I actually heard "you are the only person.." during login and was able to hear subsequent calls ringing + the customer- this lasts for few mins and then the same issue. Sometimes the system throws the agent out of conference saying "you have been kicked out of the conference" though not always.

I have tried reboots, 2 re-installs and no success. I've successfully installed and configured a few vicidial systems already but dont seem to be getting anywhere with this one. I suspect that for some reason the dialer is unable to place the agent into the conference successfully - though the asterisk CLI does not show anything like that. I've already purchased the manager manual and hunted on several forums without any success. HELP! The only option left is to install on another machine.

Tried that and I get a response of best worst and average as 99.98 range. Do you want me to post the exact output?

when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method, vicidial version and build, asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box.

Similar to This:
Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X Build XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

Multi Server? Are your agents on the same local subnet as your server? Are the agents SIP phones set to NAT? Have you tried IAX? (KIAX or Zoiper)

I'm shooting in the dark, though, since i'm not at all sure about your installation information (see above) :)

Did you change the IP address of the server? Have you run the "update_server_ip" script and restart mysqld?

Vicibox CE 1.3 from .iso | Asterisk 1.2 | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation

I can dial using just the softphone. I've got some PC's on ubuntu using Twinkle and others on XP using Xlite. Do you still want me to try Zoiper?

I've updated the ip as well as given it several reboots.

are you using iptables?

cli output would be helpful

i've had a couple servers where the calls were immediately considered "answered" before the connection was even made, and the result was the recording playing before the sound channel was even open, so the agents never heard it. this doesn't sound like your case, but the cli output showing the playing the recording AFTER you've answered the call, but no sound actually transmitting .. would point toward iptables or another port issue

I will post the CLI output soon (am off-site now). Disabled IP tables and same thing.

In the meanwhile I've done a fresh install of ViciidialNow CE 1.3 on a dual core PC with 4 GB RAM and its working perfectly fine. Btw - i'm using the same agent desktops in the same LAN so client and network issues can be ruled out. Doing the exact same thing on the HP does not work.

Arrrgghh!! I'm still going to keep at troubleshooting the original install and get to the bottom of this somehow. Any help will be appreciated (and a brand new HP proliant server doesn't go to waste!!

what vicidial version (exactly) and build? (from the manager screens, bottom left corner)

did you upgrade it?

did you try to use the original agent screen in the 2.2 upgraded system, or are you using the vicidial stock agent screen?
