Vicidial VTIGER 503.Synchronize users with Issues.

I just started working on using VTIGER, that is with vicidialnow. I put the VTIGER information into VICIDIAL, and when I Synchronize users with Vtiger, I can no longer log into my VTIGER. I have tried the system user name and password, I have tried the extensions with the extensions password, and VITIGER, will not let me login. When I Synchronize it says:

You need to upgrade Vtiger and Vicidial to the latest versions. Vtiger is 5.1.0 and Vicidial is 2.2.1. The version of Vtiger that comes with the latest VicidialNOW distribution is quite old (5.0.3) and doesn't have the user synchronization feature with Vicidial. The upcoming release of VicidialNOW (hopefully last week of July or first week of August) will have out of the box integration between Vicidial and Vtiger.

Thanks Gardo, I just went ahead and installed the new version of VTIGER510. I upgraded to the newest VICIDIAL a few weeks back. See my problem with the Sync was that it would over write any existing user in VTIGERS password or somthing, even on the new one. so what I did was I stayed logged into the VTIGER during the sync, checked to see if the extension were listed in the user table, then went to my asterisk manager.conf and placed the extensions in and secret into the file, saved it reload asterisk, then went back over to VTIGER and made sure all the user extensions were pointed to the asterisk extensions in the manager.conf, logged out and was able to log back in. Everything seemed to work fine. Still testing it though.

One more question when I upgraded VICIDIAL, the old client would not work with the new upgraded VICIDIAL so I switched the directory for the agent to point to agc2, the agc2 works fine an good, my question is what happened to the cool orange GUI?, its all grey looking. I thought the orange was really cool.

Is there a way to custumise the agents dialer screen to your bussness needs, eather a way to rename the fields, or add new fields were it says Name/Address/Phone Number/Postal Code...etc..

In SVN/trunk we have added custom fields, and you can rename the default fields as well.

You do not edit a file, you enable custom fields in the Admin -> System Settings screen, which is also where you can rename default field names.

Ok Matt I am not seeing the custom fields option in the admin > system settings. I due see Enable Custom Dialplan Entry.

I am using version 2.2.1 am I using the SVN/Trunk version?

Hey matt if I upgrade to the SVN/Trunk will I lose all my current VICIDIAL settings and campaigns? Or is there a way to back it up?

there is a backup script ... in fact there are lots of cool scripts in there with detailed usage information inside them.

there is an "UPGRADE.TXT" file in every download of vicidial. it details specifically how to upgrade.

you should run the backup FIRST. copy the data file from the backup OFF the machine. THEN begin the upgrade, which includes modifying your existing mysql database if necessary (in a separate step, look at the instructions).

so far, however, i have not had a backup or upgrade fail. The Vicidial Group has done a good job there.

MySQL connect ERROR:

MySQL connect ERROR: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

this just happened out of no were, I simply restarted my machine and then this error message pops up. So I went to see if the mysql damon was running and its not. I suspect this error is due because it can not connect to the mysql database.

i am guessing that this should be a different thread. not really related to the original post or the other posts that followed.

try rebooting again ... then post your entire configuration and start a new thread.
