Hi everybody.
we're using vicidialnow 1.3 for outbound dialing with asterisk 1.2 With 2 servers (1 CORE 2 QUAND 4gig ram) for the vicidial and (1 CORE 2 QUAND 4gig ram 500gig Hdd
for Database.)with Eyebeam as a softphone with 10 seaters.
Connection to the Voip provider is an sip Trunk using the G729 codec ;
Below is our sip trung conf :
host=ourvoipprovider.
type=friend
context=from-trunk
username=our username
fromuser= our username
secret=our sercret
dtmfmode=rfc2833
qualify=600
disallow=all
allow=g729
insecure=very
********************

The issue is that some SPECIAL CHARACTERS dont show up in both the script and also the name and the adresse of the prospect.

characters like (é.è.ç) and instead of that we see (question mark?)

here is and example:
gérard would give g?rard
françoise would give fran?oise
andré would give andr?.

And of course that disturb a little my newbie t?l?operators.sorry teleoperators :(':D')

NB. we are using frensh language.
Thank you.

:D

I thought of a lizy solution:

before uploading the excel file to the application i replace all the special characters with the normal ones.

replace é by e.
replace è by e.
replace ç by c.

I'm waiting for a solution from you .

By making some research in the forum in came into this post but i must admit that i did not know how to follow that instruction.

a simpler method may be to use a web form set to pop up when the agent gets a call. the web form could have ANYTHING in it that you like, and can even be set to modify the vicidial_list record of the client :)

otherwise you could add a feature request (with a bounty?) to allow specific special characters past the AJAX data conversion (instead of replacing them with ?, replace them with the correct character again, given a specific list).
