hi
i am also using the same server for 25 agents, with recording outbound
i have used all vicidial so that all my 30 channels ieE1 will be used simultaneously
step to use E1 or T1 cards in vicidial
for digium cards
1. once card inserted type the following
2. dahdi_genconf -vvvv (this will automatically detect the card model and load the respective driver and conf files
3. type dahdi_cfg -vvv "this should show the configured channels
3.vi /etc/asterisk/dahdi-channels.conf and change the context to trunkinbound
4.vi /etc/modprobe.d/dahdi.blacklist.conf , comment the respective driver of your card
5. vi /etc/asterisk/extension.conf
edit the trunkinound context dialplan as per your inbound DID
edit the GLOBALS context datas as per below
#TRUNK=Zap/r1 ; Trunk interface
#TRUNKX=Zap/r2 ; 2nd trunk interface
TRUNK=DAHDI/g0
TRUNKX=DAHDI/g0
6. in default context write the outbound dialplan as
exten => _X.,2,Dial(${TRUNKX}/${EXTEN:4},30,tTor)

Anyway to use PRI line but without using PRI cards.
I heard about GSM PRI card or something like that.
I am looking for CHEAPEST solution for domestic setup.
- Code: Select all
5. vi /etc/asterisk/extension.conf
edit the trunkinound context dialplan as per your inbound DID
edit the GLOBALS context datas as per below
#TRUNK=Zap/r1 ; Trunk interface
#TRUNKX=Zap/r2 ; 2nd trunk interface
TRUNK=DAHDI/g0
TRUNKX=DAHDI/g0
6. in default context write the outbound dialplan as
exten => _X.,2,Dial(${TRUNKX}/${EXTEN:4},30,tTor)
I use CARRIER settings of GoAutoDial.

pri Gateway is the alternative to pri cards, but the gateway is somewat costlier than pri card
there are lots of cheap cards like openvox , rhino , zycoo etc
if you use gateway then no need to edit diaplans,dahdi conffiles ,
just you need to create sip trunking,
no idea about gsm cards

Go for Sangoma cards. Their quality is topnotch. More expensive but less headaches for you in the long run. GoAutoDial has out of the box support for Sangoma cards.
