How to Monitor Bandwidth Utilisation based on Agent Lan IP if My internet is getting distributed from the server but No squid Installed ?

I use forward=1.

All my agent has been assigned IP and they are Not on Dynamic IP.

google iptables for bandwidth monitoring/logging.

also iftop has filtering abilities if i recall.

Oops: I mean ... what do you mean by "ip based monitoring"?

Seriously, given the odds, IPTables logging features, combined with any one of several log parsers (or an interesting database interface of some sort) should be able to supply you with whatever you want. But ... this is in no way related to Vicidial.

Besides which, the question is too vague to answer, but i'll take a shot at what you are asking, and a possible answer:

You want to be able to determine how much traffic is passing between your Vicidial server and any specific other computer?

If so: iftop will provide that information quite neatly. If you're looking for something deeper or different ... please be more specific 8)

I used iftop.

My carrier settings :

disallow=all
allow=g729
type=friend

But I see call bandwidth usage as :

I using xlite a my Softphone. That may be the reason ?

I tried Eyebeam also... but same ..

1) you cut off the actual bandwidth numbers column (it is off to the right there ...)

2) i do not see a problem, it shows bandwidth, not very much ...

you kinda have to spell out your issue for me

Issue is I have 2 MB Lease line.

With 17 agent my MRTG shows I am using up all 2 MB .

Now, if I am using G729 at dial ratio of 1:3 , still, it should reach 2 MB.. right ?

Now, if I see port wise Consumption , when call is connected , with g729 Codec , it shld be around 8 * 3 * 2 = 48 kbps.

but you are not showing the traffic traveling through to the ISP, only the local network traffic to/from your agents (which does NOT go through your external 2M leased line, unless those 192.168.xx.xx computers are in another building)

and setting your "carrier" settings does not change your AGENTS to g729 (but your agents being on g729 is pointless, since their signals are only between your vicidial server and their workstations ... which does not go through the 2M leased line)

if you are not sure what codec is actually in use, use "sip show channels" in asterisk.

agents don't use bandwidth.

phone calls use bandwidth.

begin referring to your bandwidth usage based on how many active (dialing and "up") phone calls you have that are to / from a location OFF your local network.

plus any "internet" surfing that may be happening.

ONE agent on facebook will take up 2M in a heartbeat.

if purely "phone" (no surfing) approximately:

10 outbound calls ulaw will eat 2M.

20 outbound calls gsm

30 calls g729

so how many calls? (you have also not shown the iftop usage of the external traffic)

if it is on another card, iftop -i eth1 will show the other interface (oddly enough, iftop -i lo shows interesting traffic as well)

you tryin to get rid of me?

You may need to substitute your external interface for the eth1 part, but that's probably right.

Is this regarding a quality issue?
