I love the vtiger integration you have done for the vicidial/Goautodail. Thank you. I am very excited to use such product.
The question I have is how do we keep vtiger updated when vicidial portion not changed or how do we keep vicidial portion updated without touch vtiger. I see the good use of the both products and would like to get updated without affecting the other product. I know it may not be possible but I have to try. For example I saw vtiger 5.2 had some good feature. Want to know how easy for Goautodial to upgrade vtiger to 5.2 without changing the vicidial part.

updating each package is done separately. if you update vicidial it has NO effect on vTiger and if you update vTiger it has no effect on Vicidial. So that was easy.

BUT ...

If you update vTiger, you must first be sure that the INTEGRATION will still work (AFAIK integration is only working up to vTiger 5.1 ... )

But that also depends on the integration that you use. I have not checked to see if any of the integration(s) would survive upgrade.

You can update Vicidial but not Vtiger, the integration with vtiger only works with a patched Vtiger version of 5.1.0.

Thanks for the reply. Since the integration is done for specific version, what if vicidial comes out a new version? Is there any issue with existing installation of the vtiger? My concern is to keep what I have done in vtiger customization and data in case of the change in vicidial without re-installation of new vtiger. Also will upgrading to SVN 2.4 break the integration to vtiger on version 2.2.1?

Matt is saying that updating vicidial will not break the link or existing integration. No changes to vTiger will keep the integration working even if you upgrade vicidial.
