have not find a document on field mapping witch pushing vicidial lead to vtiger. I am interested in company name in vtiger, what I saw was that the client name was used as company name. What if the lead already exist with a company name in vtiger? Will vicidial find the correct one or it generate a new one. What is the information on search for vtiger? I assume it was the phone number. But what if there are two people have the same phone number in vtiger, it seems vicidial may push to the wrong person according to the phone number.

The field mapping is very basic and hard-coded currently. ViciDial only searches Vtiger based upon phone number or vendor_lead_code, not based upon company name, although I'm sure it could be programmed to do so if given enough time.

Thanks for the reply. So if we define the unique vendor lead number, it should be OK to search for the right name.
I do feel that a company name maybe needed. I know that currently vicidial push client name as company name in vtiger. That is OK for consumer. But if we are dealing with business contacts, that may not be right. What is your thoughts on that?

I haven't done any B2B setups with Vtiger for over a year and I've been doing less and less work with Vtiger for a while now that more and more CRM functions are being added into ViciDial itself.

Vicidial is a wonderful product. But I cannot see Vicidial be an CRM product. It takes a lot of effort to have CRM capabilities.

And what would those CRM capabilities be?

One of the big issues that our larger clients have with most of the CRMs out there is lack of capacity. They have millions of records that they need to access and most CRMs, like Vtiger and SugarCRM, are not built to handle that many records like ViciDial is.

You are absolutely right about the capacity issue. For CRM, I am more interested in the ability to track every steps of the sales process and post sale's services for the clients and log client communication, documentation, remember email out reminder, anniversary, be able to specify the product and services, be able to customize information inputted/stored. If you can help getting those capabilities into vicidial, it would be a great product.

We are working on making ViciDial more like a CRM, with the addition of custom fields, agent lead search ability and per-call notes we have gotten much closer to this, and we plan on continuing down this path.
