Hi,

I have Digium TE220 card, I just plug in the card before the installation of GoAutDial.

When I I run

[root@go asterisk]# dahdi_scan
[1]
active=yes
alarms=UNCONFIGURED
description=T2XXP (PCI) Card 0 Span 1
name=TE2/0/1
manufacturer=Digium
devicetype=Wildcard TE220 (5th Gen)
location=Board ID Switch 0
basechan=1
totchans=31
irq=162
type=digital-E1
syncsrc=0
lbo=0 db (CSU)/0-133 feet (DSX-1)
coding_opts=HDB3
framing_opts=CCS,CRC4
coding=
framing=
[2]
active=yes
alarms=UNCONFIGURED
description=T2XXP (PCI) Card 0 Span 2
name=TE2/0/2
manufacturer=Digium
devicetype=Wildcard TE220 (5th Gen)
location=Board ID Switch 0
basechan=32
totchans=31
irq=162
type=digital-E1
syncsrc=0
lbo=0 db (CSU)/0-133 feet (DSX-1)
coding_opts=HDB3
framing_opts=CCS,CRC4

** I can see this, it means my card is installed or not?

2)
My PRI's will be available in 3-4 days, Is there any way I can check my card. ?

3)
The manual of TE220 is asking me to download and install lippri and dahdi. do I need to download and install it, I think not, bcz
a) dahdi_scan shows my card and I can see in /etc/asterisk the dahdi files.

This is the fist time, I'm using voice card. I apologies for any silly questions.

thank you

you cannot test an E1 card without the E1 circuit

dahdi and libpri are already installed

You can test that it at least functions with a crossover T1 cable if you have at least two ports. You just set one up at the net and one as the cpe(in separate groups) then you can dial from one to the other.

Did you get a cut-sheet from your carrier detailing the specifics of the PRIs to be delivered to you?

What is the signaling that you have requested for your E1?

Does it matter for testing the E1 ?

I think it will be ks. (Kick start)

"ks" is an analog signalling, not for PRIs.

Yes it is important that you know how your E1s are going to be delivered. I would suggest contacting your carrier and finding out what signalling these circuits will use.

What country at these E1s being installed in?

we are located in Pakistan.
The carrier will provide us GSM E1.

not sure about the rest of the things, will get this on monday.

then I will contact you again.

but what do you suggest me for E1 PRI.
what should be signaling , E&M or pri_cpe etc.

Please answer in details and refere me any good url's for learning purpose about E1 PRI and signaling , please do not fwd to google only, fwd me the links you prefere, I know you are gurus.

thanks a lot.

E&M is not a PRI signal type.

Read the dahdi conf files for more information. We also have sample configs in the docs directory of ViciDial that you can look at.

For PRI to test you can set one up as pri_cpe and the other port as pri_net and you should be able to call between them.
