Dear all

Right now I am runing VicidialNow
VERSION: 2.2.1-237
BUILD: 100510-2015

And I am going to install another the GoAutoDial for backup.
Would you please give me some instructions how to migrate the DB and Asterisk configuration from current VicidialNow to GoAutoDial?

Thanks in advanced
Mike

your current database would not be "migrated" per se, it would be copied and then upgraded (or upgraded and then copied).

you CAN upgrade the existing installation to the latest SVN code right where it sits.

but if you don't want to alter that running system at all, you would, instead, build the new system, copy the OLD database to it (mysqldump on the old system and then use that dump to create a new database on the NEW system completely replacing the default databse). Then you would UPGRADE the database from its present version to the version matching what you just installed by following the UPGRADE document in your /usr/src/astguiclient/[VERSION] folder. Then the database would match the software and you should be good to go. Any "customizations" you made the .conf files should be made again, manually, to be sure any other new stuff in the new .conf files is not overwritten by trying to use the old .conf files.

Ordinarily there shouldnt be any changes to the .conf files these days unless you are using Digium/Sangoma cards or need to make a technical change to sip.conf (externip for example) or iax.conf.

if curious, you CAN run a diff comparison on your old .conf files against the samples included with your old source code (the unmodified files should still be in a subfolder of /usr/src/astguiclient/[VERSION] for easy comparison).

Also remember that if you do not have the same IP address on the new system, you'll need to run the admin server ip update script in /usr/share/astguiclient (it has directions in it, it's very simple to run, all it needs is the old and new ip addresses). do not run it until AFTER you have upgraded the database so the database structure matches the update script.
