Hi guys, I'm just too curious. If I do install Goautodial:
Let's say:
From a box with these specs and then it turned out that there's a hardware crash like the Motherboard has burned out but the H.D.D is just okay. Then I would like to transfer the H.D.D to a another box with higher specs which is totally different specs from the old box. Will it automatically adapt to it's new hardware environment? or a Clean install will always be the requisition?

Ordinarily a clean install is best, but if you have backups (which can be made from the drive before wiping it clean) you can then restore the data into the freshly built system.
I've had great luck with identical motherboards. I've had a couple instances when a different almost identical motherboard worked well also, but it isn't something you can easily predict. (Helps a LOT if you have lots of servers with the IDENTICAL motherboard, and SPARES!)
Failing spare motherboards, installing from "GoAutoDial" or Vicibox Redux is extremely helpful because you can have the exact same environment as the dead system for an easy restore.
ADMIN_backup.pl is very useful for this. /var/log/astguiclient/archive has a full database backup (7 daily numbered backups!) for an easy restore (it can be a little more complex if you use SVN because you have to match your SVN version perfectly or run the database update scripts to bring your "old" database up to the installed code, but that's not too hard).

Wow, thanks sir william for the enlightenment. Alternatively where do you commendably start learning these Vici-projects? I know that I have to know some basic Linux commands but as a newbie I would like to be your apprentice
. I am starting to love Linux and Vicidial. It's a great open-source software where Professionals and Newbies meet.

I don't know about that, but there are a lot of forums for help and Vicidial itself has information in the Manager's Manual, the Wiki and inside the software itself.
Reading each file is educational to learn how they work.
Learn perl and php and asterisk agi will bring you a long way towards "guru" status.
Start in: /usr/src/astguiclient/VERSION/docs
and: /usr/share/astguiclient (in here you have to read the insides of the scripts, begin by executing each one with "--help" for basic execution instructions).
also look in the Vicidial web folder for .php files that are not available on a menu. Some are not documented and have a special purpose, all are educational.
Happy hunting.
