Why is goautodial admin 3.0 so slow??
Its painful and the web admin screen takes a huge amount of time to load.

Currently running 3.0-1375156800

We can use the /vicidial/admin.php URL on the same dialler and its very fast and usable!
However the goadmin screens are really slow to load up!!

Two possibilities as i see it:

1) The cost of pretty/cool AJAX / Javascript screens.

2) Underpowered server.

So ... what are the hardware specs?

PS: This would be why The Vicidial Group has kept the Vicidial screens ugly and very very simplistic. It's about the capacity of the server. Not "pretty". Of course, I'm just guessing ...

HP proliant ML310e, Quad Core Xeon, 12Gb ram
Its not underpowered, the machine previously ran GoAutodial 2.1 and was perfectly OK
It also runs the vicidial admin webpages ok

So there must be something in particular to the new look interface which comes up very slowly!

The new goautodial has a lot more "stuff" in it. Very heavy on "Pretty/Simple to use". That does incur a cost. As I said: AJAX/Javascript will slow things down quite a bit.

However, your statement shows the number of processors and amount of RAM. This could still vary widely. A quad core Xeon at 1.7Ghz will respond quite differently than one at 3.6Ghz. Plus a front side bus speed can vary widely, as can CPU Cache and memory speed. You have not really demonstrated a Powerful system spec. I will say, however that this may not be as important as I asserted ...

Gardo is basically pushing a "Web 2.0" look and feel, and this requires a "Web 2.0" Desktop to handle the load. Many workstations are seriously underpowered as they are many years old.

Right on the spot William! Almost everything is done on the workstation side. All those bells and whistle are done on the workstation particularly the web browser. Minimal footprint on the server side.

you have hit upon one of my pet peeves. LOL

core i5 means nothing. it's a brand name. your processor is neither more powerful nor "cooler" because it's an i5. whenever you try to impress someone with your processor (or inform them of it's power in any way), the Speed and Number of Cores is the spec to give. not it's brand name. core i5 is not Lamborghini.

that being said: core i5 comes in flavors from 2.2Ghz to 3.6Ghz and two cores to four cores. And let me say that 2.2Ghz with two cores is ... not impressive. If you load up a 2.2Ghz dual core system with a bunch of cookies, browser add-ons and toolbars, it could certainly be slow workstation. If you're that type.

and "underpowered for this" could easily be determined by having someone with a quad-core 3.0+ using private browsing and without any add-ons or toolbars try the page. could be enlightening. then you'd know if it's your workstation or if the site itself is just slow. in which case you should just use the regular "web 1.0" vicidial screens.

Are you saying that everyone who logs into goautodial 3.0 now has to upgrade to a quad-core 3.0Ghz cpu just to have a decent experience of the new interface???

lol. nope, but it would be preferable not to have a bloated list of browser helpers/addons/toolbars and running apps. and a "decent" system. and patience. that's been known to help a bit as well.

and while you may not Consciously think you were trying to impress someone with the i5 ... it would be interesting to hear why the brand (intel i5) was in any way related to whether it was "underpowered"? not that you were trying to impress me with your powerful workstation, but perhaps that it being intel and an i5 was in some way impressive and would demonstrate its lack of underpoweredness. LOL

Not really sure why your GOadmin page is slow. What browser are you using? What operating system (Windows, Linux, Mac and etc)? It loads up pretty fast on a decent workstation (dual core with at least 1 GB of RAM).

Have you tried updating the system by running "yum update -y"?

is this dead. I have same issue. i have a decent machine and decent bandwidth....has there been any resolve..agent login, vicidial login, vtigercrm i added all works fine...but no go on https to admin. please help.

I was able to correct it with setting on my pfsense2.1 firewall. Nat/firewall enable reflection NAT/proxy......works like a charm on a dual core pentium with 2GB ram and 5mb up on server side. issue was not i5 xeon arm chip related

running autodial ce3.0 64bit
