Zaptel and Goautodial compatibilty

Hello, Erick Gasana... from Rwanda
BAsed on you experience, which version of goautodial has old drivers which can work well with Zaptel

I usually use Te405P digium's or similar types, which seems to be compatible with Zaptel (old cards) (with E1 line)
And you know you'd better download a version of Goautodial which has no dahdi installed (Zaptel dont overwrite dahdi, and it creates conflicts)

My case:
I use Goautodial-ce-2.1, an HP PC as a server, TE405P card, NO other softwares installed... I usually get this:
dahdi: Unable to register DAHDI character device handler on 196 (dmesg)
Which means dahdi cannot be overwritten by Zaptel, I uninstall dahdi, but still the problem persists, everytime I try to modprobe wct4xxp

My question:
I want to install a version of goautodial which works well with zaptel. Would you advise me which libpri, zaptel and asterisk version should I reinstall after installing Goautodial?

Thank you! Be blessed

1) Moved this topic to the goautodial board (as it is quite pointedly not "support" but "installer" directly related to the goautodial installer).

2) Why do you not want to use dahdi? Are you saying you know it is not compatible with your hardware? Where did you get this information?

3) Why GoAutoDial and not Vicibox? (Different installer ... you may find that it installs and works perfectly with your hardware without a problem).

4) There have not been a lot of releases of goautodial. Just 2.0, 2.1 and 3.0 as far as I know. Although I guess there may also be a fix-release of 3.X. So it really shouldn't be too hard to select one. LOL (Try 2.0 and 2.1 ... those are the only two old ones). You could also try vicibox 1.0 which was Ubuntu and asterisk 1.2 with zaptel, very old.

5) You say you get a message that means zaptel and dahdi are having a conflict so you remove dahdi ... did you try removing zaptel instead? And then a simple recompile of all necessary software? Goautodial's wiki instructions (if i recall correctly) show how to recompile on the older version and I think the newer version will do it for you from the web interface.

Updating the system is done easily via "yum update" in the command line starting with GOautodial CE version 3.0. No point really in downloading a newer ISO for updates and reinstalling.

He doesn't want to upgrade, he wants to DOWNGRADE to Zaptel.

Obviously. That's why this thread is present. And my post was in answer to yours. That's why yours was quoted.

Not to be off-topic, you can download GOautodial 2.1 which is more than 2 years old. That one has Zaptel instead of Dahdi.

? Your answer was how to upgrade. I don't see anyone asking how to upgrade or mentioning upgrading in my post or his. I think you were just typing faster than you were reading again. Too much Caffeine.

Hi there, thanks for your replies, it helped a lot
I really don't kno why I always thought the TEXXXP card doesn't work with Dahdi, I never installed dahdi on my previous installations ailleurs, always used Zaptel
Anyway. Now I fixed it
I installed GoautodialCE3.0, didn't reinstall anything, same default asterisk, dahdi and libpri,... just reconfigure the files... It's now OK (y) thanks a lot

But there is a small issue, Inbound is okay but outbound hangs'up

Lemme create a new topic for it.... Again thanks a lot
