vicidialNow / MD5 checksum problem

Postby jtmanis » Sun Jan 13, 2008 11:10 pm

Burning software (K3B) says checksums are identical, and verify says iso and disk seem to be binary equal, but install hangs (gave up after 10 minutes) at CentOS welcome screen. Running F2 and "linux mediacheck" indicates that MD5SUM was probably not added to image. Again, K3B contradicts that.

This would be HUGE if I could get past the install problem. Trying to do the "From scratch install" on the astGUIclient site has been my most notable 'nix install humiliation to date. No love, no how.

Cheers,

Jim

Please check the stickies specially the known issues. You might be encountering the long pause during installation which is normal.

OK, just lack of patience

Please disregard previous posting. When you say it may take some time after the setup info is read in, you mean a LONG time. "linux mediacheck" still fails, but who cares.

depends on your specs. with athlon barton core it takes a while before the installation continues but with core2duo procs it's just less than 10 mins
