Hi,
My vici is working fine and today I added an x100p card. Wish to use it as a timer.
The card is installed and same can be verified in dmesg, lsmod and lscpi.
The ztcfg -vvv output is :
channel 01:fxs kewlstart (default) (slaves:01)
1 channels configured
So far everything's okay, but running the zttest shows:
opened pseudo zap interface, measuring accuracy......
------results after 0 passes----------
best: 0.000000 -- worst: 100.000000 -- average: 100.000000
IS THIS THE NORMAL OUTPUT??? IS x100p WORKING FINE??
thanks all....

I believe you usually want to runn more than 0 passes on zttest

hey, that's funny i never noticed it but i've done that, too. you have to wait for zttest to initialize and actually run some tests before you kill it. i let mine run for about 15 seconds and these results popped every second or two. how long did you wait before hitting ctrl c? or did it just not run any tests?
also: i've run it on a box with digium 4 port card and get that same "pseudo" notation and ztdummy is not loaded and on this trash box with ztdummy ... so are you loading ztdummy?
here's my output from a "trash" box with no hardwsare using ztdummy. (on a Gentoo box, obviously):
gentoo21 ~ # zttest
Opened pseudo zap interface, measuring accuracy...
99.926758% 99.963379% 99.926758% 99.951172% 99.963379% 99.938965% 99.963379%
99.926758% 99.963379% 99.938965% 99.975586% 99.963379% 99.926758%

Hi,
Thanks matt and william for the quick response.
I believe you usually want to runn more than 0 passes on zttest
you have to wait for zttest to initialize and actually run some tests before you kill it
I believe you are right as out of sheer anxiety I didnt let zttest run even for few seconds
and shud I assume the card is installed ok?? I even chkd for irq misses and there were none.
Once again thanks to all...

Seems installed. Have you used genzaptelconf? (-h give you configuration choices)
Also, zttool
Have you tried to make a call with it? (hook up a phone line ...)

Hi,
Just to update.....
All efforts to put this card into use failed. It didn't shared any interrupt but still zttest didnt yielded any output. After changing two motherboards, I cud finally put it into use on the motherboard which allowed to diable ACPI (rather an old motherboard
)
I dont think I'll dare to use this card again as its pure luck that one can get it working on one 1 out of 5 systems.

So ... where did you get this card? Is it a Digium or a knockoff? Have you been on the Digium board to get help with it?

Hi,
Got this card from x100p.com for under US$20
I got it working after all, on my older PC (INTEL ORIGINAL MOBO 865 with 2gh PIV processor with 1 gb ddr1)
But LET ME TELL YOU that the working of VICI now has improved remarkably.... no cracking even whn my server load is 18.0 (thats too high i suppose).. all of my 10 agents are logged in and Im doing total recordings with conference. The zttest after 2 hrs reports average of 99.97
So guys listen to MATT that for any setup a timing hardware is must

Hi,
The joy was shortlived and Im getting cross conferences. An agent on call keeps on receiving other calls in between (im using ratio and free g729 codecs).
Can some1 please confirm if its due to the high load (20-25 on the campaign realtime screen) ????
thanks

Yes, high load does all sorts of strange things, and 20.00 is very high load, even for an 8 core machine.

Hi Matt,
VICI is no doubt a robust piece of code as at the time of writing this Im running my 10 seats (ratio 2:2) without any problem while the load is still around 18-20%.
At the same time can u please suggest a cheap alternative to the timer card from x100p dot com (novavox) which does not have the serious IRQ issues. My new server is lying useless as the card cud not be used in that.
