timeout is for if the call isn't answered, then hang up and try the next number. so yes that might work. but i don't think i can really answer that unless you explain why you want to hang up after four seconds.

IF you only want to hang up if there isn't an agent available after the call is answered, then NO, that's "Drop Call Seconds".

IF you want to hang up if the call doesn't IMMEDIATELY get answered (i assume by an answering machine that's set to First Ring), then yes, dial timeout of 4 seconds will allow one ring and hang up if not immediately answered.

Ingenious method of getting ONLY answering machines. Illegal, but ingenious.

My idea is to dial out UK premium number where we call and hang up after 4 secs as its an IVR and it is LEGAL to do that .

as long as you're dialing to the UK (and neither you nor your clients are in the US) i have no idea whether it's illegal or not. sorry. i was thinking inside the USA.

I still do not understand why you want to hang up after 4 seconds. i might be able to offer a suggestion if i did.

Hi William,

I also have a similar requirement.

It will a no-agent campaign.
The dialer will predictively dial (UK) and once a customer picks up a call, the dialer shud wait for 4 seconds and then disconnect the call.

Just need a cue to start working on it !! If it's possible after all ??

Thanks

Hi MATT,

I request you to kindly spare out some precious time of yours and advise if this can be accomplished.

Well, first of all, there really isn't any point to predictively dialing if there are no agents, this would just be broadcast dialing.

Can you tell me the purpose of this auto-disconnect after 4 seconds?

I can't figure out the logic of it.

What kind of call volume are you planning on doing with this?

Hi Matt,

First of all, thank you very much for the reply.

The purpose is to dial U.K. premium numbers and after the phone is picked up the line shud be disconnected after 4 seconds.

What I have gathered is that this is some sort of voting process/campaign and the center will forward the logs to show that calls were made to intended parties.

LOL. Voting process. I like it.

Remote agents. Give the campaign as many remote agent lines as you want lines dialing, but make sure that the phones that the remote agents are pointed to never get answered.

Then set the campaign "Drop Call Seconds" to 4. That SHOULD do it.
