Hardware dependencies for dialing out extensions in Vicidial

Hi,
I am new to Vicidial. I have installed Asterisk PBX (v 1.2) and Vicidial (v2.0.3). I have configured a few extensions in the PBX and softphones (SJ Phone) are used. We dont have any trunks(sip/zap/iax). Now I need to dial out these extensions using vicidial. Is it technically feasible? If so, what are the configurations required.
Or do we need trunks for dialing out the extensions from vicidial through Asterisk PBX?
Can i do this without any additional harware dependency. I'm doing this exercise just to gain competency

Please do help me.

Thanks
Chithra

Yes, you can dial out without any additional hardware, but you will need an account with a carrier like Binfone or Vitelity to place calls on the PSTN.

You want free telephone service forever unlimited or just to test the server and prove that it works before you Spend any of your employer's money?

I know that several providers allow the creation of an account and a few free calls (hoping that you will then continue to use them, since you have an account set up already). I do not know if binfone does this, but I do know that http://www.voipstreet.com/ does.

Voipstreet does NOT dial internationally and they do not allow more than 20 channels. They are also quite fond of shutting you off for a couple minutes if you have more than 16 channels and you have too many numbers in a row that do not exist when dialed. But they do have good service and it is reliable. No monthly minimums and low pricing for DIDs which can be instantly purchased (after you actually pay for them).
