VicidialNOW includes Asterisk Server????

Postby jepps3 » Tue Apr 21, 2009 11:24 am

I'm kinda new to this software.

I have tried OSDial and that software package installs everything needed to start a predictive dialer. It installs Asterisk and Vicidial at the same time on one PC.

From what I understand, the original Vicidial 2.0.5 has to be installed seperately from asterisk since it's not bundled together in one ISO file. So thats why VicidialNOW and OSDial was a bit more attractive since i'm new to asterisk itself.

My question is does VicidialNOW 1.2 Final include Asterisk on the ISO file and install it all together?????

Thanks

Awesome :D

Am I correct to assume VicidialNOW 1.2 is a perfect way to setup a predictive dialer in a simple way with basic linux knowledge?

I am not a pro by any means.

There is also the ViciBox server Install ISO that can install ViciDial with Asterisk and Ubuntu server, although for a basic install where you don't want to have to set anything to start with and have very little Linux knowledge then VicidialNow might work better for you.

Also available is the ViciBox Demo LiveCD demo where you have a server and client with web interface all on one LiveCD image that you can boot to, to try out ViciDial 2.0.5 without installing it onto your hardware.

Another side-note, OS Dial is a fork of ViciDial based upon ViciDial 2.0.4(released in 2007) and is lacking most of the bug fixes and new features that are available in ViciDial 2.0.5.
