ViciDialNOW Install on a Proliant ML370

Hi. I am tasked with setting up a 50 seat outbound call center. I've decided to go with an Asterisk solution and I'm excited about ViciDialNOW. The server I'm looking at is a Proliant ML370 3ghz processor with 2gb RAM. We're going to put in a digium quad span t1 card.

My questions is whether or not this is sufficient hardware for 50-75 concurrent calls and if so will I run into any issues getting ViciDialNOW to run on it. I'd hate to buy the server only to find out that it's not going to work.

Thanks.

Running 50 to 70 concurrent calls is difficult for a single server setup. You need to have multiple VicidialNOW systems load-balanced together. I would also recommend increasing the memory to 4 gigs.

It will work, but you may want to look at a multi-server setup for that heavy of a load. easiest method is to put at least MySQL and possibly web or other services on another box to reduce load. MySQL box need not be exposed to any other system (only available for the vicidial box).

Read the manual on multi-server setups. Shy away from a "monster box" to try to fit it all in one and move towards multiple servers with load sharing.

you may also consider data T1 instead of voice T1 and use a pure voip solution. this would allow you to add new vicidialNOW clones without purchasing a new T1 card/service each time. Just faster internet, another generic server, and possibly a new IP address as you grow.

Thanks for the info.

Bought the server....install was perfect and it's running without any problems so far. Of course I am going to run into many problems down the road but I am thankful for this community.
