How to get rid of 9 prefix

Does anyone know how to stop Vicidial from adding a 9 prefix to each outbound number?

Have you read the Manager Manual?

In the campaign detail screen change the dial prefix to X

dial prefix to the UK

Postby gforce » Thu May 21, 2009 3:04 pm

Im so glad I found this forum....

I'm a newbie here, not a programmer just someone working with vicidial and freepbx. I apologize in advance if this posting is in wrong section, but it seemed similar to the issue Im having. I'm a call center operator who does press1 inbound campaigns and having some trouble with calling out to the UK.

My goal is to dial out to the uk correctly. I guess this means have vicidial and freepbx talk to one another to get the job done. I recently learned that it may also have to do with the sip trunk that is set up. Well this is how the sip trunk provider wants the vicidial to dial out to UK:

05544+phone number and NOT 01144+phone number

the leads I load in automatically have a 1 in front of the phone number, so I had a company go into the vicidial to configure the dial plan as 05544 before calling out the phone number. this company set up 899 to be my dial prefix (I don't understand why 899 and can't just make it 055), but when i entered 899 in the dial prefix in the campaign, it doesnt connect to the numbers when I run my campaign. the company says vicidial will automatically strip the 899 and make it equal to 055, but if so I don't understand why it's not working. In FreePBX report, I can see some numbers 'answered'/'no answer' but majority say 'failed'. When I manually called the failed numbers, they are good working numbers....so there must be something wrong with how its dialing out. I also tried entering X as the dial prefix, but that didn't work. Is it the way its set up in vicidial, is it the trunk, is it a combination of things???

I need someone who can point me in the right direction who knows what they're talking about and most importantly what they are doing.

I greatly appreciate all the help I can get in advance
