Hi all. New to Asterisk and ViciDialNow. Am trying to figure out what I need to do to get our PBX setup to work with our SIP Provider using ViciDial as the dialer.
Our provider (NuVox) led us to believe that this would work without any issues. I installed Asterisk and ViciDial using the ViciDialNOW cd. No issues. When they came out to the SIP trunking install they informed me that our box needs to be configured already before they can make the cut. I was led to believe that they would be able to configure Asterisk but apparently that's not true and now I am tasked with getting it configured.
I am about to purchase a support contract with Digium to help and I asked Nuvox to provide me with any information that Digium support would need to get it working. The only thing they sent me was the PBX IP, gateway, and SIP server IP/Port. Is this sufficient information to get it working? I have so many questions and I'm sure I haven't provided enough information but I'm about to pull my hair out.
Does anyone have ViciDialNOW working using Nuvox as the provider? I'm trying hard to learn as much as possible as quickly as I can. Help! =)

You might want to hire a consultant who is knowledgable with ViciDial and works with it on a daily basis instead of hiring Digium.

As for Nuvox, we have never tried their SIP product, but they do have great service on the T1 side and we even have a Nuvox Sales Engineer that comes to our Asterisk user Group meetings here in Tampa.

Thanks for the reply Mark. I wonder what we're looking at - ballpark figure - as far as cost. The support contract for Digium is $595 for 2 instances. I was hoping that once we were able to get it working (meaning able to dial out) that I would be able to figure out ViciDial using this community as support. I am starting from scratch here and it is all a bit overwhelming but I am much more knowledgeable now than when I started thanks to the forums here.
I didn't have any issues getting ViciDialNOW installed. It all appears to be functional. What I'm trying to figure out now is what is necessary to make the Asterisk server talk to SIP provider. If going with a consultant is the best way to go then I will gladly let my boss know but I think he is concerned about how much more we are going to spend getting this going.

I wonder what Digium considers to be an "instance"?
As for cost, I would recommend posting on the Jobs forum here to see if you could get some quotes. As for us(the ViciDial Group) we charge $200/hour to start and we are pretty much the most expensive ViciDial consultants that you will find, although we can usually fix issues very quickly.
