No sound in vicidialnow

Hello:
I just installed the vicidialnow, 1.2. My connection is to pass the iax trunk from vicidial to my other pbx, pbx-in-a-flash on the same network. It worked using the softphone test. I can have a softphone (cc100) calling outside phone number (91NxxNxxxxxx) through my pbx without any problem. But when I start a compaign, the phone ring to the other side but no sound both way.
I remember someone said that we need the zap device to work with conference. Is that true? Can we just use the sip/iax trunk to get it to work? Thanks.

If this is your first Vicidial box, set it up using a standard provider and get it working before you attempt to trunk through another box, if you want to save yourself a headache. After you get it working properly, getting it to work through another box will be much easier.
If you are otherwise unsure how to set it up, the instructions for installation for VicidialNOW are where you need to be. Those instructions apply whether you are trunking through your other box or not, nothing changes except that YOU are the provider for the trunk. This changes no protocols or other requirements. You don't get to skip any steps or no load anything because you own the box providing the trunks and it happens to be on the same subnet.
Follow the directions, read the "stickies" for this forum, and read the vicidial manual (free download for the beginner version from EFLO.net).
But seriously, you will enjoy your setup much more if you get a regular trunk working before you trunk through your other server if you are a beginner at Vicidial. Removes the issue of "which box has the problem".

Bill:
Thanks for your reply. As I said, I did get the trunk right and working between my pbx box and vicidialnow server. The only thing left is the conference timing equipment which is the reason for the no sound in conference. The vicidialnow server needs a zaptel device to provide timing for the conference which I had read it before but forgot. Anyway, I have purchased a x100p and will install soon to test the conference. At this point, I believe I have set it up right.

It is not necessary to purchase hardware to supply the timing, and often the "cheap" fake x100p cards don't provide correct timing anyway. Use ztdummy instead and at least verify that your issue is resolved through software timing.
If you do not get sound in both directions, it may be an issue with your trunk or your router. When your agent logs in, do they get the message "you are the only person in this conference"?

Yes. I got the message. After dial the client phone number, the phone ringed but no sound when answered. I can dial out from the softphone without sound problem. I remembered that Matt was telling other poster to get hardware timing instead of tdummy to resolve the sound issue. I have not tested further about the sound. Will test it tomorrow after I install the x100p card.

what is on the asterisk CLI leading up to the "no sound". it should contain an error indicating what it tried to do.
