Broadcast without agents

Postby ykhan » Tue Jun 16, 2009 9:52 am

I want to setup a broadcast campaign without any live agents logged in ot the server. I want to transfer the calls to a VM extension when the call is connected instead of sending to an agent. Is this possible with 2.0.5 (VicidialNow 1.2)? Are there instructions for setting this type of campaign up in the Manager Manual (Full version)?

Yes this is possible and this is explained in the Help screen as well as being further explained in the full version of the manager manual.

I have gone through the tutorials, but was unable to find a solution for my particular issue. Here is the call flow that I need to implement:

1. Vicidial calls customer without any agents logged in.
2. Upon ANSWER, Vicidial plays a message and some options (1-DNC, 2-VM)
3. If customer presses 1, Vicidial plays good bye message and hangs up. If customer presses 2, Vicidial transfers the call to the VM extension or 8369.

Basically I need the functionality of Tutorial F and G both. Any help is appreciated.

In the campaign survey screen, set the Survey Method to VOICEMAIL, then set the Voicemail field in that same screen to the voicemail box that you want the calls that pressed 1 to go to.

You need to upgrade to ViciDial 2.0.5

In the Manager manual on page 20 it says:

You will need to make sure that you have recorded a customized audio recording to be played in this dialplan entry, we often recommend having the message play twice if it is not too long to make sure the customer can listen to the entire message at least once.

1. If I have a prerecorded message, where do I place it?
2. What do I name the file, does the file have to follow a numeric name like 85100001?
3. Any additional changes I need to make in the tutorial steps if I copy a file instead of recording it from ext. 8168?

For 2.0.5 we recommend naming it 85109999.wav and putting it in the /var/lib/asterisk/sounds directory. Make sure it is either an 8bit/8k GSM file or a 16bit/8k PCM wav file.

In SVN trunk we have a web-based uploader for audio prompts
