No ringtone in manual dial method

Hi guys,
I have two vicidialnow installations showing the same problem. If the agent is in manual dial mode only 1 out of 30 outgoing calls is producing a ringtone.
I don't think that this is a carrier problem because if I dial out without using vicidial there is always a ringtone.
This is my dialplan entry:
Code: Select all
exten => _0049XXXXX.,1,AGI(agi://127.0.0.1:4577/call_log)
exten => _0049XXXXX.,2,Dial(${YYYSIPTRUNK}/${EXTEN},,tTor)
exten => _0049XXXXX.,3,Hangup

This is my account entry:
Code: Select all
[YYY]
username=1180
type=peer
secret=XXX
insecure=very
host=XXX
defaultip=XXX
fromuser=1180
authuser=1180
nat=yes
disallow=all
allow=g729
context=from-trunk
canreinvite=no
qualify=500

Does anyone have an idea why the ringtone is only working occasionally?
Is there any way to force this ringtone?

Many thanks,
heinz

What kind of phones are you using to dial without using ViciDial?

Hi,
the installations are vicidialnow 1.2 therefore I assume the asterisk version is 1.2.30.2.

Softphones are eyebeam and ekiga.

Thanks,
heinz

Sofphones gives users "fake" rings when dialing. These are simulated ringtones and are not being sent by your carrier. Best way to test if your carrier sends ringtones is using ViciDial on manual dialing mode. Try using a different carrier or ask your carrier to send ringtones when you're dialing.

Ok,
I think I'll contact the provider once more for some tests.
Thanks,
